There was a time when I could finish work, close my laptop, and call it a day.

Now I close my laptop, open my phone, and discover that someone has launched another AI model. Naturally, I need to try it. Just for five minutes.

An hour later, I have tested three prompts, compared two models, and come up with another product idea.

Sleep has officially become a backlog item.

I feel like my productivity has increased by 10x. Things that used to take days now happen in hours. I can explore an idea, build a prototype, create content, and test different approaches much faster than before. As a founder, this is incredible. The distance between “what if?” and “let’s try it” has become so small.

But life has changed along with it.

Earlier, I had more ideas than I could execute. Now I can execute more of them, which somehow gives me even more ideas. My to-do list should be getting shorter. Instead, it has developed ambitions of its own.

Every new release gives me another reason to experiment. Can this improve our translation quality? Can we automate another workflow? Can we build something that wasn’t possible last week?

These are exciting questions. They also have terrible timing. Most of them seem to arrive when I am supposed to be sleeping.

So, thank you, OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, and everyone else building these tools. You have made my working hours dramatically more productive and my bedtime increasingly negotiable.

I am still figuring out how to enjoy this pace without feeling the need to try everything immediately. Some experiments can wait until morning. I know this.

But then a notification arrives.

“New model released.”

Okay. Just one more prompt.
